Sick Kids Fundraiser
“To my Friends:
I wish to thank
my many sponsors and friends who attended the opening of my photography
exhibition on November 12, 2009 and made it such a success. Twenty-one of
my photos were sold (at an average price of $500) with interest continuing on a
number of others. My net proceeds were donated to The Hospital for Sick
Children for a program designed to assist financially challenged families with
children who require replacement cochlear implants.
I am
particularly pleased by the professional endorsement of my work by persons
whose opinions I most value. I have been diligently pursuing my
photography in this revolutionary digital era and continue awed by the
available software such as Photoshop for post editing. I may be in my
senior years (where most of my contemporaries have retired or faded away) but I
continue, with enthusiasm, on a never ending learning curve to improve my
photographic art. Where my dad in the 20’s was photographing using glass
plates, it is mind boggling to live in this 21st Century and pursue
photography with pixels.
Included below
are some of the photos taken at the opening, many of the photos that were in the
Show, and a photo of my donation to the Sick Kids Foundation.”

OUR CONDO IN ROATAN
Roatan is the largest of the Bay Islands of Honduras located about 36 miles off Honduras' northern coast. It is situated in the western region of the Caribbean Sea. At 30 miles long and less than 3 miles wide. Roatan has a total land mass of about 49 square miles (127 square kilometers). The island has a mountainous backbone surrounded by warm Caribbean waters with gentle trade winds. A portion of the Great Western Barrier Reef, the world's second largest barrier reef, embraces the island on the north shore. The reef provides calm, clear protected beaches for swimming and snorkeling, and hosts many varieties of sea life. This hilly Caribbean island is as picturesque as it is unspoiled. Islanders enjoy trade winds the majority of the year, keeping the temperature averages between 80F and 88F daytime, with nights between 70F to 76F. The warm and comfortable climate provides an ideal environment for the lush and exotic plant life found on the island as well as the people who choose to make Roatan their island home.
